John Shaw

John Dennis Shaw, 59, of Haverhill, died Wednesday, Feb. 24, 2010 at the Maplewood Care &amp Rehabilitation Center in Amesbury after a lengthy illness.Born in Haverhill, Aug. 10, 1950, he was the son of the late Harry S. Shaw III and Alma (Cunningham). He attended Haverhill Public Schools and was a graduate of Haverhill Trade School, Class of 1968.A Vietnam veteran, he proudly served his country in the U.S. Air Force and was honorably discharged after four years.Mr. Shaw was employed as a nursing assistant at Whittier Rehabilitation in Haverhill for over 10 years. He was previously employed by the Vernon Plastics Co.He leaves two sons, John D. Shaw Jr. of Hampton, N.H., Randy A. Shaw of Bradford two daughters, Shannon M. Shaw of Bradford, Belinda C. Backstrom and her husband Gary of Lacombe, La. four grandchildren, Brandon, Bret, Owen and Danielle a brother, Harry C. Shaw of Bradford three sisters, Pamela St. Onge of California, Lois Quinn of Haverhill, Maureen Whitman of Pennsylvania and several nieces and nephews.ARRANGEMENTS: Friends and family are respectfully invited to his graveside committal with Military Honors in the veteran’s section at Linwood Cemetery, 41 John Ward Ave., Haverhill, on Monday March 1, at 1 p.m. Arrangements are by the Kevin B.
