Thomas Edward Betty, 62, of Haverhill, formerly of Groveland, died Thursday, Sept. 9, 2010, at his home, surrounded by his loving family and friends.Born in Haverhill, he was raised in Groveland, the son of the late George C. “Tip” and Gladys N. (Belmer) Betty. He was a graduate of Pentucket Regional High School, Class of 1967.A Vietnam veteran, he proudly served his country in the U.S. Air Force and was honorably discharged at the rank of Sergeant. He furthered his education and earned his certification as an LPN from Whittier Tech High School.Mr. Betty was employed at the Merrimack Valley Hospital in Haverhill and the former Hale Hospital as a Licensed Practical Nurse for over 30 years. He was an avid reader, a fanatic of all Boston sports, and enjoyed watching movies.He leaves his beloved son and daughter-in-law, Timothy P. and Heather Betty, of Haverhill a brother and his wife, Eric and Kristen Betty, of Milford, N.H. two sisters, Brenda Dubois and her husband Michael of Georgetown, Carla Taylor and her husband James of Haverhill an uncle, Vaughn Betty, of San Francisco five nephews, Christopher, Scott and Sean Dubois, Corey and Robbie Taylor. He was predeceased by a nephew, Alex Betty.ARRANGEMENTS: Friends and family are respectfully invited to call on Friday (TODAY) at the Kevin B.
