Thomas Joseph Kelly, 83, of Arlington, died Sunday, October 3, 2010 at the Caritas St. Elizabeth Hospital in Brighton.Born and educated in Ireland, he was the son of the late, Thomas and Mary (McMahon) Kelly. H was a member of the former St. James Parish and St. Agnes Parish in Arlington.Mr. Kelly was employed by the Town of Arlington, in the Water Department as a Water Mechanic for close to thirty years, retiring in 1992.He leaves his beloved wife of fifty-six years, Geraldine J. Coutts, eight children, John S. Kelly, of Billerica, Paula T. Driscoll and her husband, Thomas, of North Reading, Thomas J. Kelly and his wife Patricia (McGoldrick), of Clinton, Mary Kelly-Burke and her husband Charles Burke, of South Boston, Joseph F. Kelly and his wife, Jeanne (Pigott), of Arlington, Eileen A. Roper, and her husband, Mark, of Burlington, Michael B. Kelly, and his wife Janet (McLaughlin), of Arlington, Daniel P. Kelly, of Arlington, a sister, Agnes T. Phillips, of Arlington, twenty grandchildren, and several nieces and nephews, including Stephen J. Comeau, of Clinton, Kevin B. Comeau, of Haverhill, and Donna M. Rans, of South Boston.Friends and family are respectfully invited to call on Wednesday, October 6, from 4 until 8 PM at the DeVito Funeral Home, 1145 Massachusetts Ave., Arlington. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated on Thursday at 10:00 AM in St. Agnes Church, Medford St. Arlington. Burial will follow at Mount Pleasant Cemetery, Medford St. Arlington.
