Boston – Rita Louise Kopps, 88, of Westwood, died Monday, November 11, 2013 at the Beth Israel Deaconess Medical Center in Boston after a period of declining health. Born in Boston, November 15, 1924, she was the daughter of the late, George and Anna (Ruhs) Kopps. Raised and educated in Boston, she was a graduate of the Girls Latin High School, class of 1942.Miss Kopps was employed in the Medical Administration field throughout her career. She was an Administrative Assistant at the Peter Bent Brigham Hospital and as an Administrative Assistant the Dr. George W. Thorne, MD she was affiliated with the Howard Hughes Medical Institute for many years, retiring in 1988. Miss Kopps leaves a nephew, George H. Kopps and his wife Joan (DiBurro), of Haverhill, a niece, Katrina Bickerstaff and her husband, Michael, of the Sagamore Beach section of Borne, and close friend, Helen Hurley, of Dedham. She was predeceased by her brother and sister in law, Harold and Theresa Kopps. At the request of Miss. Kopps, there are no calling hours and burial is private.
