Haverhill – M. Barbara McSweeney, 90, a lifelong resident of Haverhill, died Tuesday, February 4, 2014 at the Sutton Hill Nursing Center in North Andover after a lengthy period of declining health.Born Mary Barbara McSweeney in Haverhill on August 23, 1923, she was the daughter of the late, Peter J. and Margaret I. (Kellett) McSweeney. A lifelong member of St. James Parish she attended the St. James Grammar School and was a graduate of St. James High School, Class of 1951.Miss. McSweeney was employed as an Administrator for the Beneficial Finance Company for thirty-five years, retiring in 1989.Barbara leaves cousins and many friends in the Haverhill area. She was predeceased by her brother, Vincent J. McSweeney.Friends and family are respectfully invited to call on Thursday morning from 10:00 AM until 11:00 AM at the Kevin B. Comeau Funeral Home, 486 Main St. (Rte 125) Haverhill. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated on Thursday morning at 11:30 AM in St. James Church, Winter St. Haverhill.
