Haverhill – Susan J. (Ferguson) Sturk, 58, of Haverhill, died Monday, February 17, 2014 at her home with her family by her side, after a lengthy, courageous battle with cancer.Born in Haverhill, she was the daughter of Ernestine (Woodbury) Ferguson and the late, Richard E. Ferguson Sr.. Educated in Haverhill, she was a graduate of St. James Grammar School and Haverhill High School, class of 1973.Susan lived an interesting an life, a gregarious, vivacious woman, she lived her life to the fullest. A true people person, her entire career consisted of taking care of others. She began as a certified Nurses Assistant at the Whittier Rehabilitation Hospital in Haverhill and later became a Dialysis Technician at the Dialysis Center in Andover. After spending twenty-five years in the health field, she went in the direction of her lifelong dream, and that was to work along with her brother in the family barber shop. She went to Barber school and became licensed in 2007 and has worked at Fergie’s Barber shop for the past seven years.She leaves her beloved husband, Jeffrey M. Sturk, of Haverhill, a son, Garrison Cossu, of Hyde Park, a daughter, Jennifer A. Ferguson, of Haverhill, her mother, Ernistine Ferguson, of Haverhill, two brothers, Richard E. Ferguson Jr, and Ralph T. Ferguson, both of Haverhill, three sisters, Margaret Zebrowski and her husband, Gerard, of Cooper City, FL, Sandra J. Bonin and her husband, Gerald, of Haverhill, and Janet M. Ferguson, of Ellisville, NY, one cherished grandson, John Anthony Cossu, and many nieces nephews and cousins, all of whom will miss her deeply.Friends and family are respectfully invited to call on Friday from 4:00 PM until 7:00 PM at the Kevin B. Comeau Funeral Home, 486 Main St. (Rte 125) Haverhill. Her Memorial service will be held on Saturday at 10:00 AM in the funeral home. Burial is private.
