Haverhill – Francoise Yvette (Gelinas) St. James, 92, passed away Monday, June 9th at the age of 92. She was born the youngest of 8 children on July 1st, 1921 in Trios Rivières-Quebec, Canada. She moved to Beecher Fall, VT in 1940 where she became engaged to Fernand W. St. James. After the war, they married at St. Anne`s Church in Lawrence, MA where they eventually settled and raised their family. She was a devoted and loving homemaker/mother of 10 children. After the children were grown, she worked various jobs ending with the Lawrence High School Cafeteria where she retired. She moved to Clearwater, FL where she enjoyed retirement with her husband. They returned to live in Haverhill, MA looking for the support of her family to help care for her husband, who suffered from Alzheimer Disease. She was pre-deceased by her husband of 58 years who died in 2003. She is survived by her daughters: Sister Aline St. James, s.c.i.m. of Natal-RN, Brazil, Carol and Peter Watson of East Kingston, NH, Susan and Frank Sadowski of Groveland, MA, Nancy Leefe and significant other Robert Hills of Plaistow, NH, Doris and Peter Petrucci of Salem, NH, her sons: Daniel and Veretta St. James of Amherst, NH, Paul and Deborah St. James of Vancouver, WA, Steve St. James and significant other Theresa Haggerty of Wilmington, MA, Alan St. James of Haverhill, MA, and Kevin and Tami St. James of Kingston, NH, as well as 18 grandchildren, 15 great grandchildren and several nieces and nephews. A Catholic Mass of Christian burial will be celebrated Saturday, June 14 at Sacred Hearts’ Church, Main St. in Bradford, MA at 10:00 am. There will be a calling hour from 8:30am until 9:30 AM prior to the funeral, at the Kevin B. Comeau Funeral Home, 486 Main St. (Rte 125) Haverhill.
