Haverhill – Gloria B. (Cranton) Kimball, 88, of Harrison, Maine and Holiday, Florida, passed away on Friday, July 4, at the home of her son in Windham, NH.Born in Haverhill on January 10, 1926, Gloria was the daughter of William and Bertha (Delaney) Cranton. She attended Haverhill public schools, graduating from Haverhill High School, Class of 1944.Gloria’s life revolved around her family and church. She was a loving woman who genuinely cared for people, and she seemed to have an endless supply of compassion for those in need. Active in the West Parish Congregational Church, she worked tirelessly on the original committee which established the Hilltop Kindergarten. After raising her children, Gloria was employed by the Home Health V.N.A. of Haverhill, retiring in 1982. As a young woman, she volunteered countless hours at the former Hale Hospital she continued that service during her retirement in Florida, caring for neighbors and members of her church family who were in need. Gloria’s family was her life indeed, she was the “Anchor” of the family.The widow of Robert P. Kimball, who died in 2009, Gloria leaves her grateful children: Joyce B. Peavey and her husband, Timothy, of Harrison, Maine Carolyn G. Peavey and her husband, Jonathan, of Punta Gorda, Florida and Glen D. Kimball and his wife, Lorri, of Windham. Her memory will also be treasured by her nine grandchildren and their spouses: Timothy and Pam Peavey Christopher and Jen Peavey Eric Peavey Benjamin and April Peavey Andrew Peavey Katie Peavey Rachel and Micah Petillo Ariane and Jakub Sroubek and, David and Alyssa Kimball. Nine great grandchildren will hear stories of their great-grandmother’s love and pride for them: Norah Peavey, Nolan Peavey, James Peavey, Harrison Peavey, Aleitha Petillo, Lily Nickelson, Hana Sroubek, Luke Peavey, and Eli Petillo. And, finally, several nieces, nephews, cousins, and friends were deeply loved by Gloria, and will miss her dearly. She was predeceased by her eight fun-loving siblings.Friends and family are respectfully invited to the West Congregational Church on Saturday, July 12, 2014 at 11:00 AM for a celebration of Gloria’s life.
