Amesbury-Joseph Leo Perreault, 91, of North Hampton, formerly of Amesbury, passed away peacefully in his residence on Sunday, November 23, 2014. He is survived by his brother, William J. Perreault, husband of the late Lorraine M. (Mottram) Perreault niece and caretaker Linda J. Mottram, both of North Hampton, NH generations of nieces and nephews, including Linda Perreault of NH Joseph Perreault of MN Brenda Norris and David Mottram, both of Atkinson, Cheryl Gifford and Michael Mottram, both of Plaistow, Donna Comeau, Kelly Moses, Ronald, William, and Stephen Mottram, all of Haverhill, numerous cousins and dear friends. Joseph was born in Lawrence to the late Wilfred & Leda (Lambert) Perreault. He was raised and educated in Amesbury before proudly enlisting in the United States Navy during WWII. Joe dedicated his successful thirty year career of service to the United States Merchant Marines until his retirement to Holly Hill, Florida. Several years ago he returned home to live in North Hampton, where he has enjoyed extended time with family and friends. Joe looked forward to daily car rides with his brother while visiting Amesbury, Newburyport and the ocean. In his spare time he took pleasure in reading and listening to music. Joe will be dearly missed and fondly remembered as a true gentleman who took pleasure in making others laugh. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 10:30AM on Tuesday, November 25, 2014 in St. Joseph Church of Holy Family Parish, 9 Sparhawk St., Amesbury. Burial will follow in St. Joseph Cemetery, Amesbury. A period of calling hours will be held in the church prior to Mass from 10-10:30AM on Tuesday morning.
