Haverhill – Armand D. Sayers, husband of the late Thelma R. (St. Pierre) Sayers passed away at Hannah Duston Healthcare in Haverhill on Sunday, September 27 surrounded by his loving family.Born in Haverhill, he was the son of the late Albert E. and Roseanna (Durocher) Sayers. He attended Haverhill Public Schools. A World War II Veteran, Armand proudly served his country in the United States Army and was honorably discharged. He began his career in the shoe industry working for various shoe manufacturing companies. He was a well-known bartender at Allman’s Café for over 40 years and later serving as bartender at the Lasting Room. A man of strong faith, he was a lifelong parishioner of St. Joseph’s and later of All Saints Parish. Armand was also well-known and recognized for his daily walks throughout the city. Surviving him are his sons, Armand L. Sayers and his wife Cheryl of Haverhill and Allan K. Sayers and his wife Glenda L. of Kingston, NH one granddaughter, Kelly Barnes of Sandown, NH two great grandsons, Cody and Cooper Barnes several nieces and nephews including his caregiver Roseann McMenemy and her husband David of Bradford. He is also survived by Christine, Shirley and Samantha. He was predeceased by his son, Ernest C. Sayers brothers Raymond, Albert and Leo sisters Lillian Kraynak and Irene Duchense. Friends and family are respectfully invited to attend calling hours on Wednesday, September 30th from 4:00PM until 8:00PM at the Kevin B. Comeau Funeral Home, 486 Main Street, Haverhill. Funeral services will begin on Thursday morning at 9:00AM from the funeral home with a Mass of Christian Burial to be celebrated at 10:00AM at All Saints Church, Bellevue Avenue, Haverhill.
