Haverhill – Romaine C. (Daignault) Ingham, 83, formerly of Haverhill, passed away on Thursday, September 3 at Tufts Medical Center in Boston surrounded by her loving family.Born in Haverhill, she was the daughter of the late William and Angelina (Strickland) Daignault. Raised in Haverhill, she attended St. James Grammar School and was a graduate of the St. James High School, Class of 1950. She furthered her education at Northern Essex Community College and received her degree in Gerontology. Romaine worked as the Director of the Council on Aging for the town of Amesbury. She was fiercely independent and loved her trips to Maine. She loved a good book and was an avid reader. What she most enjoyed and cherished was the time spent with her family, especially her grandchildren.Surviving her are her children, Michael G. Ingham and his wife Lynn (Boudreau) of Haverhill her daughter, Janet I. Ingham of Exeter, NH her daughter in law Barbara (Valliers) Ingham of Haverhill and her former daughter in law, Shirley Crosley of Danville, NH a brother, Ronald Daignault of FL two sisters, Dianne Muese of Danville, NH and Marlene Hurley, of Windham, NH five grandchildren, Jennifer Lopez, Michael R. Ingham, Joseph A. Ingham, Joshua Long and Drew Long and eight great grandchildren. She is predeceased by her son, Robert J. Ingham, siblings, Robert Daignault, Jr. Donald Daignault William Daignault and Dorothy Sanville.Friends and family are respectfully invited to call on Tuesday evening from 4:00 PM until 7:00 PM at the Kevin B. Comeau Funeral Home, 486 Main Street Haverhill. Funeral services will begin Wednesday morning at 9:00 AM from the funeral home with a Mass of Christian Burial to be celebrated at 10:00 AM at St. John the Baptist Church, Lincoln Avenue, Haverhill.
