Haverhill – Laurie J. (Bakanosky) Gonzalez, 47, passed away after a long respiratory illness on November 30, 2018 at Lowell General Hospital.Raised in Haverhill, she graduated from St. Joseph School and attended St. Mary’s High School in Lawrence. Recently, she moved to Lowell.Although a quiet person, she had a great sense of humor, always interested in hair and fashion, something to read in her purse and a fetish for buying sneakers for all her children and friends.Being sports oriented, she especially enjoyed her time as a pitcher on a traveling baseball team, benefitting her nieces and nephews. Although she was not able to spend much time with her family, they were always in her heart.Laurie is survived by her parents, Claire E. (Rivard) and Edward W. Bakanosky her children, Edward, James, Joseph, Armand, Alexsandra, and Jolise her siblings, Cheryl, Timothy, Lisa – Jo and Susan and several nieces and nephews. She was predeceased by her husband Jimmy, grandparents, aunts and uncles.Family and friends are respectfully invited to attend calling hours on Thursday, December 20 from 5:00PM until 7:00PM at the Kevin B. Comeau Funeral Home, 486 Main Street, Haverhill. A funeral service will follow at 7:00PM in the funeral home. In lieu of flowers, as Laurie would often say – “Just be Good”. Rest in Peace, Lala.
