Alfred Dale Fleming, 79, of Haverhill, died Thursday, Aug. 5, 2010 at the Lahey Clinic Medical Center in Burlington after a brief illness.Born in Oxbow, Maine, he was the son of the late, Alfred T. and Mabel B. (Sawyer) Fleming. As a young child, his family moved to Lawrence where he attended Lawrence Public Schools and was a graduate of Lawrence High School, Class of 1948. After his service to country, he continued his education and received his bachelor’s degree from the University of Massachusetts, Amherst, in 1957.A Korean War veteran, he enlisted into the United States Air Force shortly after graduation and proudly served his country for the next three years. He was honorably discharged and received the Korean Service Medal and United Nations Service Medal. Mr. Fleming was a man of many talents, he enjoyed a career of varied experiences.He was employed as a home health aid for the V.N.A. in Lawrence, he was a real estate broker for Vernon-Martin Associates in Haverhill, he was employed as a senior securities clerk at a stock brokerage house in Boston, and a short order cook at Ryan’s Restaurant and Howard Johnson’s in Haverhill. He was involved in his church and served as parish clerk at Trinity Episcopal Church for 20 years. He loved traveling, deep-sea fishing, gardening, and photography.He leaves his beloved wife of 19 years, Lee (Smith) Fleming, of Haverhill two stepsons and their wives, David M. and Arlene Moseley, of South Carolina, Mark S. and Jessica Moseley, of Hampstead, N.H. grandchildren, Keisha, Shanti, McKenzie, and Joseph Moseley a brother and sister-in-law, Neil S. and Patricia Fleming, of Hopewell Jct., N.Y. one sister, Phyllis Ryan, of Edgewater, Fla. a sister-in-law, Marie Fleming, of Lawrence and several nieces and nephews. He was predeceased by a brother, David D. Fleming and sisters, Pearl Bushway, Jean Fleming, and Hazel Jennings.ARRANGEMENTS: Friends and family are respectfully invited to call on Monday, from 4 until 7 p.m. at the Kevin B. Comeau Funeral Home, 486 Main St. (Route 125), Haverhill. Funeral services will be held on Tuesday at 10 a.m. at the Trinity Episcopal Church, White Street, Haverhill.
