Bernice Russell, 70

HAVERHILL – Bernice Russell, 70, of Haverhill, died on Saturday, August 12, at Holy Family Hospital in Haverhill.

Bernice was born in Methuen on January 24, 1953 to Mark C. McDonald and Shirley M. Jacques.  Bernice was a graduate of Salem High School, Class of 1971.  She worked for many years as an assembler at Raytheon on the Patriot Missile. Bernice was a gifted artist; she enjoyed oil painting, camping in the White Mountains, and going to beaches and traveling to see family in California. She was a great cook, enjoyed friendly card games of 45s, and watching movies. Bernice was a very spiritual woman; she enjoyed being with her cats and dogs, and celebrating family holidays with her family. Bernice will be remembered as a devoted mother, sister and grandmother.

Bernice is survived by her son Brice S. and his wife Alicia Russell, Jr., of Haverhill, and her daughter Jennifer J. and her husband Christopher C. Hochmuth, of Haverhill. She also leaves behind her siblings Donald McDonald, of Vacaville, CA, Mark “Joey” McDonald, of Vacaville, CA, June M. and her husband Harry Amirault-Winslow, of Spring Hill, FL, Shirlene A. Van Dorne and her husband Theodore, of Nashua, NH, Susanna Wrenn, of Chiloquin, OR, and Mary Gulley, of McKinleyville, CA. Bernice was predeceased by her brother Richard McDonald and her sisters Rose M. Spry and Debbie McDonald.
