Haverhill – Charles W. Schmidt III, 67, of Haverhill passed away, Wednesday, July 16, at his home. Born in Benton Harbor, Michigan, he was the son of the late, Charles w. Schmidt Jr. and Gloria D. (Hamilton). Educated in Michigan public schools, he was a graduate of Watervielet High School. Shortly after graduation, he enlisted into the U.S. Army. A Vietnam Veteran, he proudly served and was honorably discharged in 1968. Relocating to Haverhill in 1973, he raised his family here. He was employed as a truck driver, hauling trash in the city of Haverhill, and surrounding communities. He was employed by Waste Management and Best Way Trucking. He leaves three sons, Charles W. Schmidt IV and his fiancé, Jamie Vance, of Manchester, NH, Jerry A. Schmidt and his fiancé, Ana LaCayo, also of Manchester, NH, and Donald R. Schmidt and his fiancé, Amy Jones, of Portland, ME, two daughters, Luann Robertson, of Michigan, and Anneliese M. Tyrie and her husband, Scott, of Bradford, a brother, Richard Schmidt and his wife, Diane, of Illinois, two sisters, Barbara Hamnilton and Gloria D. Smith, both of Michigan, and nieces and nephews. He was predeceased by his son, Nathanael D. Schmidt, brothers, David and Daniel Schmidt, and brother in law, Daniel Hamilton. Friends and family are respectfully invited to call on Friday, from 4:00 PM until 7:00 PM at the Kevin B. Comeau Funeral Home, 486 Main St. (Rte 125) Haverhill.
