Haverhill – Helen M. (Taber) Donovan, 95, of Haverhill, passed away peacefully at the Stevens Bennett Home after a brief illness. Born in Haverhill on August 14, 1918, she was the daughter of the late, Herbert S. and Mary Jane (Baxter) Taber Dolly. She attended Haverhill Public Schools and was a graduate of Haverhill High School, class of 1936. She was a lifelong member of St. James Parish.Mrs. Donovan was a homemaker while her family was young and she then entered the workforce. She was employed as an office administrator for the Gerson Furniture Co, and Maran Shoe in Haverhill, and later at Raytheon Corp. in Andover, retiring in 1982.A devoted wife, mother, and grandmother, she cherished her family and the time spent together. The widow of James J. Donovan, she leaves her two sons, John J. Donovan and his significant other, Diane Woron, of Saco, ME, and Thomas T. Donovan, of North Andover, two daughters, Helen M. Lisbon, of Plaistow, NH, and Marianne Chicarello and her husband, Paul, of Winthrop, a daughter in law, Barbara Donovan, of Plaistow, NH, thirteen grandchildren, Lori Donovan, James Donovan, Erin Donovan, Elizabeth Kun, Jonathan Donovan, Peter Donovan, Joseph Lisbon, Stephen Lisbon, Doreen Guba, Charles Donovan, Shaun O’Rorke, Seth Coppola, and, Amanda Donovan, eight great grandchildren, Ashley, Kevin, Brendan, and Riley Donovan, Logen and Liam O’Rorke, Nicholas Coppola, A.J. Kun, and several nieces and nephews. She was predeceased by her sons, Francis H. Donovan, and James M. Donovan.Funeral services will begin on Wednesday morning at 9:00 AM from the Kevin B. Comeau Funeral Home, 486 Main St. (Rte 125) Haverhill with a Memorial Mass of Christian burial to be celebrated at 10:00 AM in St. James Church, Winter St. Haverhill. Burial will follow at St. James Cemetery, Primrose St. Haverhill. In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to the Patient Activity Fund of the Stevens Bennett Home, 337 Main St. Haverhill, MA 01830.
