James Croteau

James Alan Croteau, 48, of Haverhill, formerly of Methuen, died Friday, January 16, at the Merrimack Valley Hospital in Haverhill following a long and courageous battle with cancer.Born in Lawrence, July 26, 1960, he was the son of Donald C. Croteau Sr. and the late Janice A. (Reed) Croteau. He attended Methuen public schools and was a 1978 Graduate of Methuen High School.For over fifteen years, Mr. Croteau was employed as a quality control inspector for Polar Tec LLC, formerly known as Malden Mills Company in Lawrence. Jim was a devoted husband and father. He enjoyed bowling, playing darts, and was a sports fan of all teams New England. He volunteered time for St. John the Baptist Church food drive and was an active participant in the relay for life cancer walk.He leaves his beloved wife of fifteen years, Linda D. (Hanbury) Croteau, daughters, Mariah L. and Janine A., all of Haverhill, and Melissa of New Hampshire, his father, Donald C. Croteau Sr. and his fiancé, Jeannette DeNuccio, of Methuen, a brother and sister in law, Donald C. Jr. and Deborah, two sisters and brothers in law, Debra and Kevin Kimball, and Patricia and William “Tony” Alicea, all of Salem, NH, a granddaughter, Alicia, and several nieces and nephews.Friends are respectfully invited to call on Sunday, at the Kevin B. Comeau Funeral Home, 486 Main St. (Rte 125) Haverhill, from 2:00 to 4:00 and 6:00 to 8:00 PM. His funeral will be held on Monday at 9:00 AM from the funeral home with Mass of Christian burial to be celebrated at 10:00 AM in St. John the Baptist Church, Lincoln Ave. Haverhill. Burial will follow at Elmwood Cemetery, North Lowell St., Methuen. Memorial donations made be made to the James A. Croteau Memorial Fund, c/o Pentucket Bank 1 Merrimack St. Haverhill, MA 01830.
