James Edward Saulnier Jr, 57, of Atkinson, NH, died Wednesday, June 22, at his residence, surrounded by his loving family, after a brief illness.Born in Evergreen Park, Illinois, he was the son of James E. Saulnier Sr. and Ursula S. (Striet). He attended public schools in Illinois and was a Graduate of Downers Grove High School, class of 1971.Mr. Saulnier was employed by the White Hen Pantry Stores Chain for twenty-five years, transferring to this area in 1976. For the past fifteen years he was employed as a truck driver for the Advanced Textiles and Linens Co. in Lawrence.A devoted husband and father, he was known for his great sense of humor. He enjoyed a friendly card game, and hosted a weekly game with his friends for the past twenty years. A fan of hockey and NASCAR, he was glad to see his favorite teams, the Blackhawks win the Stanley Cup last year and his local Bruins win it this year.In addition to his parents, he leaves his beloved wife of thirty-four years, Dawn S. (Dlugosz) Saulnier, of Atkinson, a son, Aaron J. “AJ” Saulnier, also of Atkinson, a daughter, Tara E. Saulnier, of North Adams, MA, three brothers, Russell M. Saulnier and his wife, Larisa, of Reno, NV, Scott K. Saulnier, also of Reno, NV, Michael W. and his wife Diane, of Naperville, IL, and nieces and nephews.Friends and family are respectfully invited to call on Sunday from 2 until 5 PM at the Kevin B. Comeau Funeral Home, 486 Main St. (Rte 125) Haverhill. Funeral services will be held in the funeral home at 5 PM. A private burial will take place at the convenience of the family.
