Haverhill – John F. Crosson, 56, passed away, February 13, 2015, peacefully with his fiancée, Kathleen Arsenault, by his side at the Merrimack Valley Hospice House in Haverhill after a courageous 15 month battle with Brain Cancer.Born in Lowell, he was the son of the late John and Juliette Rolande (Martineau) Crosson. Raised and educated in Wilmington, he was a graduate of Wilmington High School, class of 1976.Mr. Crosson was employed by United Parcel Service for 25 years at the Chelmsford, MA Hub Facility. In 1989, he served as a Preload Package Handler and then became a Package Car Driver until illness in October 2013. John was an active member of the Boston Teamsters Local 25 Union and took great pride in providing superior customer service to his customers on his various routes. He had a magnetic personality, a friendly smile, as well as a humble good nature that would make a stranger a friend at a first meeting. John had a strong Catholic faith and attended Mass regularly at All Saints Parish in Haverhill. He also loved his country and his patriotism lead him to become an active member of the Merrimack Valley Tea Party. He had a passion for living life and enjoyed it to the fullest. He was an avid outdoorsman he enjoyed with his friends in the Northeast Kingdom, VT, boating, skiing, snowmobiling, fishing, and hiking especially with his beloved Springer Spaniel, Izzy. John fulfilled his longtime wishes to see many parts of the United States by cruising the Inside Passage of Alaska with his sister, Linda. Most recently, he enjoyed adventures with his fiancée, Kathleen, to the Grand Canyon, Mt. Rushmore and the Bad Lands of South Dakota. He leaves behind his beloved fiancée of almost seven years, Kathleen M. (Deignan) Arsenault, and her daughter, Nicole L. Arsenault, of Haverhill, a daughter, Christie N. Crosson and his grandchildren, Jaevien Vasquez and Jazylieze Cuevas of Lawrence, three sisters, Linda A. Manzi and her husband, Michael, of Methuen, Patricia S. Barrett and her husband, David, of Leominster, and Nancy Gruber and her husband, Yves, of Fallbrook, CA, several nieces, nephews, grandnieces, grandnephews, and his best friend, Izzy, John’s Springer Spaniel as well as many friends. John was especially appreciative of the generosity of his many friends, neighbors, colleagues at UPS, his Teamsters Brothers and Sisters, and for the compassionate care he received at the Merrimack Valley Hospice House in Haverhill, MA.Friends and family are respectfully invited to call on Friday, March 6, 2015 from 6:00 PM until 9:00 PM at the Kevin B. Comeau Funeral Home, 486 Main St. (Rte 125) Haverhill. Funeral services will begin on Saturday morning, March 7, beginning at 9:00 AM from the funeral home with a Mass of Christian Burial to be celebrated at 10:00 AM at All Saints Church, 120 Bellevue Ave. Haverhill. Burial will follow at St. Joseph Cemetery, Hilldale Ave. Haverhill.
