Newton, NH- June Elizabeth (Longmire) Wahl, 76, of Newton, NH, passed away on Saturday December 5, at the Oxford Nursing Home in Haverhill, surrounded by her loving family after a long battle with Alzheimer’s Disease.Born in Lynn, she was the daughter of the late, William H. and Mary M. (Isles) Longmire. She attended Lynn public schools and was a graduate of Lynn Classical High School, class of 1957. Residing in Lynn most of her life, Mrs. Wahl met her husband Duane while he was serving in the Navy. They married, and raised their family in Lynn.She was employed as a Certified Nursing Assistant for many years working for various nursing homes in Lynn and Salem Hospital. She loved antiques, yard sales and the thrill of a bargain she and her sister took their hobby and turned it into a successful antique business. Never one to sit idle, she enjoyed her life to the fullest and was known for her great sense of humor. She loved to play cards, BINGO, and going to the Casinos, or sit by the lake and read. An avid sports fan, she loved all New England sports teams, especially the Red Sox. She and her late husband traveled extensively throughout the country by R.V. with their dogs. She was a wonderful wife, mother, and friend and will be missed by all who knew her.The Widow of Duane A. Wahl, she leaves her loving children three daughters and sons-in-law, Diane L. and David Robinson, of Peabody, Karen E. and Hal Bowden, of Newton, NH, and Nancy J. and Brian Mercer, of Lawrence, a twin sister, Joann E. Ware, of Haverhill, stepbrother Alasdair, cherished grandchildren, Abbigayle and Mary Bowden, Nicole and Jeremy Amero, Tonimarie and Jonathon Mercer, two great grandchildren, Jordyn Jones and Lilian Zerfoss and niece, Susan E. Wohl.Friends and family are respectfully invited to calling hours on Tuesday Evening from 5:00 PM until 8:00 PM at the Kevin B. Comeau Funeral Home, 486 Main St. Haverhill. Funeral services will be held on Wednesday morning at 11:00 AM at the Atkinson Congregational Church, 101 Main St. Atkinson, NH.
