Kiyoko Horning

Kiyoko (Kay) Niikura Horning 84, wife of the late Robert Horning, passed away Friday July 22 at Parkland Medical Center surrounded by her loving family. Born November 27, 1932 in Tokyo, Japan, she came to the United States in 1956. She had such a passion for life and a spirit people were drawn to. Her greatest joy was time spent with friends and family. She was gifted with many talents, quilting, seamstress, painting, crocheting, knitting and Japanese bunka. She was very active at the Salem NH Senior Center. Kiyoko had a special place in her heart for all those who knew her. She will be greatly missed. She is survived by her loving daughter Karen Axford. Known affectionately as ‘Nanny’ she also leaves behind her four grandchildren Jennifer L Byron, Amy L Owen, Mike J Owen and Matthew J Axford, eight great grandchildren Alexis, Kailyn, Aidan, Logan, Mikey Jr, Chase, Natalie and Preston. She also leaves behind several brothers, sisters, nieces and nephews in Japan. Family and friends are respectfully invited to attend a calling hour on Saturday, August 6 from 11:00 AM until 12:00 PM at the Kevin B. Comeau Funeral Home, 486 Main Street, Haverhill MA. Funeral services will be held at 12:00PM in the funeral home. Burial will be private. A Celebration of Life will be held following services at Plaistow Fish &amp Game, 18 Mayray Avenue, Plaistow, NH.
