Lucille Evelyn Bowers, 94, of Haverhill, passed away peacefully on Wednesday, March 14, 2012, at the Penacook Place Nursing Home in Haverhill.Born in Haverhill, on April 25, 1917, she was the daughter of the late Frank A. and Aurore A. (Lalumiere) Bowers. Educated in local schools, she worked as a Bowmaker for the Colonial Shoe Ornament Company until her retirement.Although Lucille never married, the true love of her life was that of the love she shared for her family and closest friends. This, among many of her other amazing qualities, is the stongest and most endearing, that those closest to her, will always remember. Beside her family, Lucille had several passions in life including her love of the arts, as well as music and spending most of her time during the warmer months near the ocean. She will be greatly missed by all who were blessed to have known her, but her memory and her passion for life will never be forgotten.Lucille is survived by two nephews, Nelson Lavallee and his wife Frances of Haverhill, Kevin Lavallee of Rochester, NY and one niece, Maryann Gagnon and her husband Donald of Florida, and several great nieces and nephews. She is pre-deceased by her sister Ora (Bowers) Lavallee in 2005.Friends and family are respectfully invited to call on Sunday, March 18, from 6 until 8 PM at the Kevin B. Comeau Funeral Home, 486 Main St. Haverhill. Funeral services will be held on Monday at 9:00 AM from the funeral home with a Mass of Christian Burial to be celebrated at 10:00 AM in St. James Church, Winter St. Haverhill. Burial will follow at St. Joseph’s Cemetery, Hilldale Ave, Haverhill. Memorial contribution may be made to the Penacook Place Activities Fund, 150 Water Street, Haverhill, MA, 01830.
