Haverhill – Michael R. Marcotte, 57, of Haverhill passed away on January 5, 2015 at the Lawrence General Hospital after being stricken ill suddenly at home. Born in Miami, Florida, he was the son of the late, Robert D. and Kathryn (Waddell) Marcotte, and step son of Ella Marcotte, of North Carolina. Raised and educated in Miami he was a graduate of South Miami High School, class of 1975.Mr. Marcotte married his wife, Anne (Shannon) in 1982 and they relocated to Haverhill in 1985 where they would begin to raise their young family. A carpenter and builder his whole career, Mr. Marcotte was employed as a construction supervisor for the Charles Services Company located in Newton, MA. An avid outdoorsman, he was a member of the Andover Sportsman’s Club. He enjoyed hunting, fishing and shooting sports. He enjoyed watching football with his heart belonging to his Miami Dolphins and the New England Patriots holding a close second. As a handyman and craftsman, he was forever improving his home. His home and family were most important to him he was a great cook and master at the barbeque and valued his time hosting family gatherings, he especially looked forward to the Thanksgiving morning Marcotte family paintball challenges. His community was also important as he was recouping from recent heart surgery, he decided to volunteer at a local Veteran’s food pantry helping those in need, finding great pleasure in doing so.He is survived by his beloved wife of thirty-two years, Anne (Shannon) Marcotte, his loving children, four sons Joseph D. Marcotte, and his wife, Kelly, of Seabrook, NH, Mathew R.J. Marcotte, of Rowley, Jason P. Marcotte, of Hampton, NH, Harrison L. Marcotte, of Haverhill, and a daughter Chase B. Marcotte, also of Haverhill three cherished grandchildren Mychala, Tyler, and Ashlin, four brothers David Marcotte and his wife Vicky, of Florida, Timothy Marcotte, also of FL, Kevin Marcotte, of MO, Shawn Marcotte and his wife, Annie, of FL, and a sister, Colleen Dawson and her husband, Walteralso of FL. He also leaves his step mother, Ella Marcotte, of NC, two step sisters Kathy Stewart-May, of NC, Karen Stewart, of FL, and several nieces and nephews. He was predeceased by his brother, Christopher Marcotte. Friends and family are respectfully invited to call on Friday evening from 5:00 PM until 8:00 PM at the Kevin B. Comeau Funeral Home, 486 Main St. (Rte 125) Haverhill. Funeral services for Mr. Marcotte will begin on Saturday morning at 9:00 AM from the funeral home with a Mass of Christian Burial to be celebrated at 10:00 AM at St. John the Baptist, Lincoln Ave. Haverhill.
