Phillip P. Gelinas, 90

Haverhill – Phillip P. Gelinas, 90, husband of Marie E. (Dawkins) Gelinas, passed away July 25, 2022 at Beth Israel Hospital in Boston.

Born in Haverhill , he was the son of the late Napolean and Emelie (Gilbride) Gelinas. He attended Essex Agricultural High School in Danvers and was a graduate of the Class of 1949. Phillip was employed for many years at Foss Manufacturing in Haverhill as a machine operator where he retired. He was also a professional musician, playing the drums, saxophone, clarinet and electric bass. Phillip was in a few bands that played nights and weekends throughout the Merrimack Valley, the Generation Gap and the Stampeders. He enjoyed riding his motorcycle with his son Joe. A devoted husband, father and grandfather he will be missed by all who knew and loved him.

In addition to his loving wife Marie, he is survived by his son Joseph Gelinas and his partner Rosemarie Lemay, of Windham, NH and grandsons Robert Kennell, John Gelinas and Paul Gelinas . He was predeceased by his daughter Phillippa Gelinas O’Meara and sister Linda Criss.

Graveside services will be held on Wednesday, August  3 at 1:30 PM in St. Patrick’s Cemetery, No. Broadway, Haverhill. Arrangements are by the Kevin B. Comeau Funeral Home, 486 Main St., Haverhill. Please visit Comeau Funeral Home, 486 Main St., Haverhill.

    To the family of colleen .I’m so sorry for your loss.Colleen was a beautiful kind hearted full of laughter person.she will be missed.I LOVE you Colleen til we meet again?

    Marie and family, I am so sorry to hear about Phil. He was a sweetheart and a blessing here at the Council on Aging. Keep those precious memories in you heart.
