Ruth Eva Marion ( Manuge) Morin, 78, of Sandown, NH, and Old Town, Florida, formerly, of , Groveland, and Lawrence, passed Friday, August 5, at her home surrounded by her loving familyBorn and educated in Nova Scotia, Canada, she was the daughter of the late, Carl and Elise Manuge. She and her former husband moved to the United Sates and settled in Groveland where they raised their family. She then relocated to Lawrence and finally Sandown, NH. Early in her career, she was employed as a Dietician at the former Burke Hospital in Lawrence. She later was employed as an Operator for New England Telephone.Nana, as she was known, was the center of the universe for her family, she enjoyed nothing more than spending time hosting family gatherings. She loved the beach, and wore a year round tan, she was a great cook, enjoyed gardening, knitting, and had a great sense of humor. She was fiercely independent and had a sassy side known to those close to her.The widow of George Morin, who died in 1989, she leaves her beloved family, sons, Michael R. Poirier, of Toronto, Canada, and Daniel J. Poirier, of Sandown, NH, with whom she resided, daughters, Judith Brown and her husband David, of Nova Scotia, Canada, Paulette S. Noel, of Haverhill, and Cheryl A. Azevedo, and her husband, Jose, of Lawrence, cherished grandchildren, Candice L, Nicole M., Danielle E., and Daniel J. “DJ” Poirier, Tara L. and Shawn D. Hatfield, Christina M., Jose, and Christopher Azevedo, Michael, Lisa, Christine, Michelle, and Melissa Poirier, Quincy, Sonya, Darcy Brown, four great grandchildren, and her companion pug dog, “Muffin” She was predeceased by a son, Donald W. Poirier, and brother, Gerald Manuge.Friends and family are respectfully invited to call on Monday, from 5 until 8 PM at the Kevin B. Comeau Funeral Home, 486 Main St. (Rte 125) Haverhill. Funeral services will be held on Tuesday at 10:00 AM in the funeral home, with burial to follow in the Holy Sepulchre Cemetery, Waverly Rd., North Andover. Memorial donations may be made to the Nevin’s Farm MSPCA, 400 Broadway, Methuen, MA 01844.
