Theresa Kozlowski

On a cold day in November of 1919 Theresa Mary Kozlowski was born to Biagio Tambascia & Augustina Bibbo Tambascia. When the family entered the country the name was written as Thambash and so she was christened Theresa Mary Thambash. She was born in Waltham, Massachusetts and later moved to a farm in Lexington, Massachusetts where she was raised with her 3 brothers and 7 sisters (one sibling predeceased). She was always on adventures with her sisters throughout her early years. And then one day she met George Kozlowski from Bedford , MA and all that changed. They were married in the old St. Michael’s church in Bedford. They went on to make Bedford their home for the remainder of their lives. They had 3 children – 2 sons: George Joseph Kozlowski Jr. (Matt) 1943, William Vincent Kozlowski 1947, and a daughter: Zoe Nancy Mary Kozlowski in 1958. Many wonderful grandchildren, Steve, Michael, Eric, Coby and Jessica were born before the passing of her beloved husband George on November 21, 1992 after celebrating their 50th wedding anniversary. Theresa remained a widow for 33 years but was lucky to have 3 wonderful great grandchildren Kaili, Michael Jr, and Bowie. Tragedy struck for Theresa with the passing of her son George in 2003, daughter-in-law Karen 2016 due to illness and her granddaughter Jessica in 2022 in a tragic fire. Theresa remained vigilant and her faith got her through it all. She was predeceased by all of her brothers and sisters. She passed away peacefully with family and friends beside her on August 2, 2025 at 105 years old.
Funeral services will be held on Friday August 8th. Viewing 9:30 a.m. Service 10:15 a.m. at the Comeau Funeral Home, 486 Main St., Haverhill, Interment at Shawsheen Cemetery, Bedford MA immediately after.
