Haverhill \u2013 William \u201cBill\u201d F. Boylan, 69, passed away July 29, 2019 at Lawrence General Hospital with his loving family by his side.<\/p>\n
Born in Methuen, he was the son of the late Vincent L. and Louise F. (Shaw) Boylan. Raised and educated in Haverhill, he was a graduate of Haverhill High School, Class of 1967. Bill worked with his father at Lincoln Foods Juice Company, in Lawrence. He was contractor and carpenter, working on many homes throughout the Merrimack Valley area. Bill was also employed with National Asbestos Abatement in Methuen for many years. He liked to ski and enjoyed taking his daughter skiing in the White Mountains when she was little. Bill also enjoy traveling throughout Maine to take his son deer spotting. His grandsons and great nephew and great nieces were all known to him as his grandkids. Spending time watching his grand \u201ckids\u201d gave him great joy. He loved taking them to the movies, out for breakfast and fishing along the river at the Reservation, in Salisbury MA. He found great peace and comfort with his church family at CenterPoint Church in Salem, NH, where he enjoyed the Wednesday night family suppers and sharing his famous bread pudding.<\/p>\n
One of his passion was horses. He worked on his family farm, formerly known as Broadway Riding Academy, driving the wagon for weekend hayrides. He was considered a cowboy and took part and travelled to Valley Forge Pennsylvania, participating in the 1976 Bicentennial Wagon train with his daughter and ex-wife Gloria (Rowell) Boylan. He also enjoyed watching and taking part in team roping events at the Double R Rodeo at Shriner\u2019s Auditorium in Wilmington MA.\u00a0 His other passion was auctions, specifically horse and tack auctions. It was clear that Bill was a collector, often buying more than selling. He loved his time at the auctions. He travelled all over New England and Pennsylvania for auctions. Bill will be missed by all who knew and loved him.<\/p>\n
Bill is survived by his two children: his daughter Kelly S. Boylan and her husband Anthony \u201cButch\u201d Rogers Jr. of Bradford, MA. and his son, William D. Boylan and his wife Maria from New Boston, NH; his younger sister, Susan L. Boylan of Haverhill; his older brother, Robert L. Packard and his wife Leslie of Chester, NH; his grandchildren, Jonathan M. Boylan, Matthew B. Boylan Yemma, Killian W. Boylan, Finnegan M. Boylan; his niece, whom he helped raise, Victoria L. (Boylan) Roche, and her husband Robert L. of Tilton, NH; his niece, Kristi Packard; his great-niece Amber Greely, his great-nephew Anthony Paul Vincent Roche, and great-niece Josephine Louise Danielle Roche, who was very happy to call him Uncle-Grampy; his former wife Gloria J. (Rowell) Boylan and step-daughter Jeni L. (Rowell) Bilodeau.\u00a0 In addition to his parents, he was predeceased by his younger brother, Vincent L. \u201cJocko\u201d Boylan, Jr.<\/p>\n
Family and friends are respectfully invited to attend calling hours on Friday, August 2 from 4:00PM until 7:00PM at the Kevin B. Comeau Funeral Home, 486 Main Street, Haverhill. Funeral services will be on Saturday morning in the funeral home at 10:00AM. Burial will follow in Pine Grove Cemetery, Rt. 97, Salem, NH.
