Haverhill \u2013 John H. \u201cCookie\u201d Cook, 67, husband of Margaret L. \u201cPeggy\u201d (Mitchell) Cook, passed away April 17, 2020 at Penacook Place Nursing and Rehab in Haverhill.<\/p>\n
Born in Boston, he was the son of the late Charles A. Cook Sr., and Alice M. (Hull) Beauvais and her husband John. He was raised and educated in the Haverhill school system. John served his country with honor in the United States Army. He was employed for 27 years at Jack\u2019s Towing in Plaistow, NH. He also worked at Milton Mencis Realty and Town Taxi in the 1970\u2019s. John was a member of the Haverhill Elks Club, the Plaistow Lions Club and had been a member of the Salvation Army in Haverhill since 1977. A Sunday school teacher and a senior soldier, he led the Adventure Corp for many years. He was an avid collector of die cast cars and enjoyed arts and crafts. He was known for his walnut shell strawberries for Christmas trees. He will always be remembered for his kindness and will be missed by all who knew and loved him.<\/p>\n
In addition to his wife Peggy of over 42 years, he is survived by his children, Wesley N. Mitchell of Raymond, NH; Kami M. Cook of Haverhill; Thomas George and his wife Debi of Haverhill; Grace Rowe and her partner Michelle Lynch of Dover, NH; Dutch Rowe and his wife Mary of Haverhill; Christopher Vadeboncoeur of Haverhill; grandchildren, Megan Alex, Paige Mitchell Juan Pablo Barrera and Mateo D. Barrera; great grandchildren, Annabelle Viens and Kai Mitchell, brothers, David E. Cook of Kentucky and Charles A. Cook Jr. and his wife Rose of Florida; sisters, Carolyn Rocha of Weymouth; Margaret A. Pajak and her husband Allen of Methuen; Elaine Serapiglia of CA; Judith Haygraves and her husband Barry of FL; Jackie Spencer of Nashua, NH; and several nieces and nephews. John was predeceased by his daughter, Sandra M. \u201cMoochie\u201d Cook, great granddaughter, Alayah N. Rowe, and brothers, William, Richard and Joseph Cook.<\/p>\n
