Atkinson, NH \u2013 Mary Jane (Grady) Fusi, wife of the late Ernest T. Fusi, passed away after a short illness August 26, 2020 at Parkland Medical Center in Derry, NH just a few weeks shy of her 82nd<\/sup> birthday.<\/p>\n

Born and raised in Haverhill, she was the daughter of the late John T. and Mary Ann (Kennedy) Grady. Mary Jane attended St. James Grammar School, Haverhill High, Class of 1956 and received her Bachelor\u2019s Degree in Business from Merrimack College.<\/p>\n

Mary Jane worked at the former Western Electric, where she met her husband Ernie. Mary Jane and Ernie married in 1969 and enjoyed nearly 50 years together until his passing in 2019. She also worked for many years for the IRS until her retirement.<\/p>\n

Throughout her life, she loved spending time with friends new and old, including many from her childhood in Haverhill whom she cherished.<\/p>\n

An avid traveler, she toured the United States, Europe, and Japan, and especially enjoyed the many cruises she and her husband took over the years. Mary Jane also treasured her trips to Ireland to visit her extended family and was very proud of her Irish heritage.<\/p>\n

In recent years, she enjoyed many social activities and day trips with the Atkinson Senior Center.<\/p>\n

Known for her quick wit and infectious laugh she was always the life of the party. Mary Jane was a strong, independent woman with a deep-rooted faith and devotion to her family. She will be greatly missed by all who knew and loved her.<\/p>\n

Mary Jane is survived by her loving daughter, Mary Ann Fusi of Lexington; brother, John T. Grady and his wife Noreen of Haverhill; sister, Margaret Guy of Portsmouth, NH; and several nieces and nephews. In addition to her husband Ernie, she was predeceased by her brother David Grady and her brother in law Kevin Guy.<\/p>\n

Family and friends are respectfully invited to attend a calling hour on Tuesday, September 1 from 10:00 AM until 10:45 AM at the Kevin B. Comeau Funeral Home, 486 Main Street, Haverhill. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated following at 11:00AM at the St. James Church, 185 Winter Street, Haverhill. Burial will be in St. James Cemetery, Primrose Street, Haverhill immediately following the Mass. \u00a0In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the Liz Murphy Open Hand Pantry 16 Ashland St Haverhill, MA 01830.<\/p>\n
