Haverhill \u2013 Mary D. Murphy, 87, wife of the late Michael D. Murphy, passed away April 11, 2021 at Holy Family Hospital in Haverhill.<\/p>\n
Born in Poughkeepsie, New York on October 14, 1933, she was the daughter of the late Richard and Augusta (Waters) Duggan. She obtained her Bachelor\u2019s Degree from the College of Mount St. Vincent in 1955, her Master\u2019s Degree from Columbia University and a sixth year certificate from the University of Connecticut in Education. Mary was a Latin teacher and the Dean of Students at Montville High School in Oakdale, CT from 1969 until 1995.<\/p>\n
Mary is survived by her children, Michael P. Murphy of Haverhill; Kevin Murphy and his wife Diana of Haverhill; Margaret Menotti and her husband Joseph of Newburyport; Dr. Kathleen Murphy and her partner David Hutchins of Salem; Elizabeth McGrath and her husband James of Providence, RI; sister, Catherine A. Evangelista of NY; brother Richard B. Duggan, Jr. and his wife Virginia of NY; ten grandchildren; one great grandchild; son in law John Langwig and former son in law Salvatore Auditore; and several nieces and nephews. In addition to her husband, she is predeceased by her daughter Ann A. Langwig.<\/p>\n
Family and friends are respectfully invited to attend calling hours on Tuesday, April 20 from 5:00PM until 7:00PM at the Kevin B. Comeau Funeral Home, 486 Main Street, Haverhill. Funeral services will be in the funeral home at 7:00PM. Interment will be at the Linwood Chapel, John Ward Avenue, Haverhill on Wednesday morning at 10:00 AM.
