Haverhill \u2013 Constance M. \u201cConnie\u201d (Spaulding) Hosford, 94, formerly of Newbury and Haverhill, passed away on December 31, 2021 peacefully at her daughter\u2019s home surrounded by her devoted family.<\/p>\n
Connie had two life passions; her family and her career. She was a devoted mother to three daughters, loving grandmother to her four grandchildren and one great grandson. She too was a beloved mother in law to her three sons in law.<\/p>\n
After attending Andover Institute of Business, Connie began her career in 1967 as the Administrative Assistant and Confidential Secretary to five City of Haverhill Mayors and later, two City of Lawrence Mayors. Connie also acted as Administrative Assistant to the Director of Community Development Office in Lawrence. She was a loved, respected, and loyal co-worker, earning her many lifelong friends. As one Haverhill Gazette Reporter stated \u201cShe\u2019s the person who keeps the cities together\u201d.<\/p>\n
Upon her retirement in 1993 Connie enjoyed traveling both domestically and abroad and spent time with her many friends and family. She especially enjoyed her summers on Seabrook Beach.<\/p>\n
Connie was predeceased by her husband John H. Hosford who died in 1982 after 32 years of marriage, her parents; Eston L. and Alice E. (Rooney) Spaulding and her three sisters; Betty Jackson, Jean Clement, and Jackie Bologna. She is survived by her three loving daughters and their respective spouses; Jean and Robert McInerney, of Newbury, Polly and Nicholas Kay, of Seabrook Beach, and Marcia and Pete Quigley, of Seabrook, five cherished grandchildren; John and Shelby McInerney, of Austin, TX, Molly McInerney, of Salem, MA, Michael Quigley, of Brighton, UT, Alison Quigley, of Burlington, VT and great grandson, Mosley McInerney, of Austin, TX along with several nieces and nephews and lifelong friends all of whom will miss her.<\/p>\n
Her Funeral Mass will be celebrated in her honor on Friday, January 7 at 10:00 AM at Sacred Hearts Church, South Main St. Bradford.
