(LaRoche) Manor"},"content":{"rendered":"<p><span style=\"font-size: 18pt;\">Groveland \u2013 Gloria Jean Manor, 77, passed peacefully after a courageous battle with<\/span><br \/>\n<span style=\"font-size: 18pt;\">cancer, surrounded by her loving family at her home in Groveland.<\/span><br \/>\n<span style=\"font-size: 18pt;\">Born in Lowell, she was the daughter of the late Woodrow and Pearl (Henry) LaRoche.<\/span><br \/>\n<span style=\"font-size: 18pt;\">She was a graduate of Salem NH High School, and furthered her education at the Mary<\/span><br \/>\n<span style=\"font-size: 18pt;\">Fazio School of Hairdressing. During her life, she worked as a cosmetologist, as well as<\/span><br \/>\n<span style=\"font-size: 18pt;\">nannying. She was an avid lover of the warm weather and the beach, spending many<\/span><br \/>\n<span style=\"font-size: 18pt;\">winters at her home in Boynton Beach, Florida. During the summer months in<\/span><br \/>\n<span style=\"font-size: 18pt;\">Massachusetts, she took great pride in landscaping and could be found searching for<\/span><br \/>\n<span style=\"font-size: 18pt;\">new plants to decorate the yard. When not working in the yard, she enjoyed spending<\/span><br \/>\n<span style=\"font-size: 18pt;\">time on the water along the Merrimack River. She also loved to entertain, whether<\/span><br \/>\n<span style=\"font-size: 18pt;\">hosting dinner parties, cookouts, or celebrations. <\/span><span style=\"font-size: 18pt;\">Gloria loved being a grandmother above all else. She often considered herself a<\/span><br \/>\n<span style=\"font-size: 18pt;\">full-time grandparent, and always had lessons in manners and hard work. Her smile,<\/span><br \/>\n<span style=\"font-size: 18pt;\">persistence, and demeanor are remembered fondly by those who knew her best.<\/span><span style=\"font-size: 18pt;\">She spent 42 years as a devoted partner to Peter L. Staples. Together, they often <\/span><span style=\"font-size: 18pt;\">traveled, spent time on the boat with close friends, enjoyed lunches and dinners out,<\/span><br \/>\n<span style=\"font-size: 18pt;\">and truly spent their time side by side. He will remember their Sunday rides along the<\/span><br \/>\n<span style=\"font-size: 18pt;\">beach and sitting in the yard admiring the river.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-size: 18pt;\">Along with being survived by Peter, she also leaves behind her children David C. Manor<\/span><br \/>\n<span style=\"font-size: 18pt;\">and his wife Jennifer of Vero Beach, FL and Jodye L. Smith and her husband Michael of<\/span><br \/>\n<span style=\"font-size: 18pt;\">Groveland; brother, Charles LaRoche and his wife Brettina of Washington, NH, and<\/span><br \/>\n<span style=\"font-size: 18pt;\">many loving grandchildren, nieces, and nephews. She was predeceased by her sisters<\/span><br \/>\n<span style=\"font-size: 18pt;\">Joyce Leach and Kathleen L. Walker.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-size: 18pt;\">Many thanks go out to the kind and caring individuals at Merrimack Valley Hospice. A<\/span><br \/>\n<span style=\"font-size: 18pt;\">special thanks to Maureen Kennedy for her dedication to Gloria and the family.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-size: 18pt;\">Funeral services are private. A celebration of life will be announced in the spring. In lieu<\/span><br \/>\n<span style=\"font-size: 18pt;\">of flowers, please make donations to the American Cancer Society.
