Groveland \u2013 Gloria Jean Manor, 77, passed peacefully after a courageous battle with<\/span>
\ncancer, surrounded by her loving family at her home in Groveland.<\/span>
\nBorn in Lowell, she was the daughter of the late Woodrow and Pearl (Henry) LaRoche.<\/span>
\nShe was a graduate of Salem NH High School, and furthered her education at the Mary<\/span>
\nFazio School of Hairdressing. During her life, she worked as a cosmetologist, as well as<\/span>
\nnannying. She was an avid lover of the warm weather and the beach, spending many<\/span>
\nwinters at her home in Boynton Beach, Florida. During the summer months in<\/span>
\nMassachusetts, she took great pride in landscaping and could be found searching for<\/span>
\nnew plants to decorate the yard. When not working in the yard, she enjoyed spending<\/span>
\ntime on the water along the Merrimack River. She also loved to entertain, whether<\/span>
\nhosting dinner parties, cookouts, or celebrations. <\/span>Gloria loved being a grandmother above all else. She often considered herself a<\/span>
\nfull-time grandparent, and always had lessons in manners and hard work. Her smile,<\/span>
\npersistence, and demeanor are remembered fondly by those who knew her best.<\/span>She spent 42 years as a devoted partner to Peter L. Staples. Together, they often <\/span>traveled, spent time on the boat with close friends, enjoyed lunches and dinners out,<\/span>
\nand truly spent their time side by side. He will remember their Sunday rides along the<\/span>
\nbeach and sitting in the yard admiring the river.<\/span><\/p>\n

Along with being survived by Peter, she also leaves behind her children David C. Manor<\/span>
\nand his wife Jennifer of Vero Beach, FL and Jodye L. Smith and her husband Michael of<\/span>
\nGroveland; brother, Charles LaRoche and his wife Brettina of Washington, NH, and<\/span>
\nmany loving grandchildren, nieces, and nephews. She was predeceased by her sisters<\/span>
\nJoyce Leach and Kathleen L. Walker.<\/span><\/p>\n

\nspecial thanks to Maureen Kennedy for her dedication to Gloria and the family.<\/span><\/p>\n

Funeral services are private. A celebration of life will be announced in the spring. In lieu<\/span>
