Haverhill- Helen P. (Foley) Palermo, 94, passed away on June 6, 2022 at her home surrounded by her family.<\/p>\n
Born in Haverhill to the late Daniel and Mary (Flaherty) Foley, she was a graduate of the 1946 class of Haverhill High School. She attended Northern Essex Community College and earned a bachelor\u2019s degree from Salem State University. A caring and compassionate person by nature, she was employed as a social worker at Community Action for many years. She traveled extensively with her beloved husband Sam; visiting Ireland, Italy, Spain, Morocco, Canada, and Mexico. When not traveling, she summered at Lake Winnipesaukee and wintered at Sanibel Island, FL. A lifelong resident of Haverhill, Helen will be fondly remembered for the many lives that she touched in the community.<\/p>\n
She is survived by her son, Blaise Palermo of Haverhill, her son Christopher Palermo and his wife Diane of Naples, FL and several loving nieces and nephews.<\/p>\n
She was predeceased by her husband Salvatore \u201cSam\u201d Palermo; her son Stephen C. Palermo; and her sisters Deloras Whalen, Katherine Foley, Mary Foley, Evelyn Malynn, and Winifred Malynn.<\/p>\n
