Haverhill \u2013 Andrew J. Fournier, 84, of the Bradford section of Haverhill passed away Friday July 22, 2022 at the Merrimack Valley Hospital in Haverhill.<\/p>\n
Born in Haverhill, he was the son of the late Adrian and Laura (Ouellette) Fournier. He attended St. Joseph Grammar School and was a Graduate of Haverhill Trade School Class of 1955. A Veteran of the United States Air Force he enlisted in 1960 where he studied Chinese Mandarin Language at Yale University and became an interpreter while serving overseas. He was honorably discharged in 1963.\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0 Upon his return home he was employed at the Western Electric in North Andover. He then went on to the United States Postal Service as a Letter Carrier from 1967 until retiring in 2000. \u00a0A very intelligent man, he was an avid reader and studied the atlas. He was always seen walking around Haverhill and Bradford and enjoyed taking drives whether around the Merrimac Valley or the Mohawk Trail. He was a huge Boston sports fan and often tried his luck with scratch tickets. His memberships include the Lorraine Post 29 V.F.W., AMVETS Post 147 and Crescent Yacht Club.<\/p>\n
Mr. Fournier is survived by his brother; Pete A. Fournier, of Plaistow, his sister Ursula Goyette several nieces and nephews. He celebrated life and holidays with his brother Pete, his niece Linda, her husband Greg Comeau and their sons Nick, his wife Cait and their children Colin and Eva; and son Chris and his fianc\u00e9` Mary Katherine Green. They will all miss him dearly.<\/p>\n
