HAVERHILL – Catherine T. (Rodgers) Powers, 71, wife of John \u201cJack\u201d F. Powers, Jr., died peacefully at home on Friday, March 10.<\/p>\n
Cathy was born on February 26, 1952 in Haverhill, MA to Harry and Marie (Cunningham) Rodgers.\u00a0 She graduated from Haverhill High School in 1970, going on to work as a hairdresser and cosmetologist throughout the Merrimack Valley. Cathy devoted her life to raising her four boys. She enjoyed singing and loved spending time with her family and granddaughter Kenzie.<\/p>\n
Cathy is survived by her husband John \u201cJack\u201d F. Powers, Jr., sons Derek H. Powers and Lisa Hubley, Haverhill, MA, Michael P. Powers and wife Heather (Johns) and daughter Kenzie, Haverhill, MA, and Sean P. Powers, Danvers, MA; brothers Chuck and Donna Rodgers, Haverhill, MA, Dan and Deb Rodgers, CA, Tim Rodgers, MO, Phillip Rodgers, FL, and a sister Kathleen Mailloux, Hampton, NH; and several nieces, nephews and cousins.<\/p>\n
She was predeceased by her son Ryan J. Powers, brothers Harry Rodgers and Michael Rodgers and sisters Patricia Tardy and Audrey Church.<\/p>\n
Cathy\u2019s family would like to extend a deep appreciation and gratitude to Lydia Zuser, MD, Haverhill, MA.<\/p>\n
The family would like to encourage friends to wear something green to Cathy\u2019s calling hours.<\/p>\n
ARRANGEMENTS:\u00a0 Family and friends are respectfully invited to attend calling hours on Friday, March 17 from 4PM until 7PM at the Kevin B. Comeau Funeral Home, 486 Main Street, Haverhill, MA. Funeral services will be Saturday, March 18 at 11AM at St. Patrick\u2019s Church, 118 South Broadway, Lawrence, MA.
