HAVERHILL \u2013 John\u00a0E. Kenney, 86, of Haverhill died on Sunday, September 3 at\u00a0Hannah Duston Health Care Center.<\/p>\n
John was born in Cambridge on April 11, 1937 to Norwood and Mary (Muldoon) Kenney.\u00a0 He was a graduate of Hingham High School, Class of 1955 and then went on to study at Northeastern University.\u00a0He worked for many years at Lahey clinic where he met his wife Joan. He then worked for the Cohasset police department and then moved to the\u00a0Department of Agriculture where he was a\u00a0Chief Inspector and was on the board of mosquito control for the state of Massachusetts.\u00a0He was a dog musher and the vice president of the Yankee Siberian Husky Club and helped with the\u00a0Sandwich Notch 60; a member of the Cohasset Sailing Club, he sailed the \u201c Gypsy\u201d boat from Cohasset to Martha\u2019s Vineyard. John enjoyed traveling to Europe,\u00a0and\u00a0going to\u00a0Alaska for the Iditarod Race. \u00a0John will be fondly remembered as a devote husband, father and grandfather.<\/p>\n
John is survived by his daughter Diane and her husband Joseph Gannuscio, of Haverhill and grandchildren\u00a0Danielle M. Derderian, Emily Bechara and her husband David, and Abbey Baker. Along with great grandchildren Youssef and Tannous Bechara.\u00a0John also leaves behind his brothers Richard Kenney, of Scituate, Robert and his wife Marsha Kenney, of Grand Junction, CO and Paul and his wife Francene Kenney, of Pittsburg, PA.\u00a0 John is predeceased by his wife Joan D. Kenney, of Haverhill.<\/p>\n
