Haverhill, MA \u2013 Bernard D. Murphy, 56, unexpectedly passed away on Wednesday, October 25 at his home.<\/p>\n
Bernie was born in Haverhill on March 27, 1967 to John J. and Elizabeth A. (Whitney) Murphy. He was a lifelong resident of Haverhill, graduating in 1985 from Whittier Regional Vocational Technical High School.\u00a0 Bernie worked for many years as an electrician and programmer for Munters Corporation in Amesbury.\u00a0 He had a love of the outdoors and bow hunting trips to Alaska, Alabama and Quebec were highlights of his passion. Bernie was a good hearted loving man with his own unique sense of humor, who also enjoyed going out to dinner and dancing.\u00a0 He will be remembered as a loving husband, father, step grandfather, brother and uncle.<\/p>\n
Bernie leaves behind his wife Marie Colon-Murphy, of Haverhill, daughter Grace Kimberly Murphy, of Nashua, NH. Step children Desiree Thorne, of Haverhill, and Roland Thorne, of Nashua, NH.\u00a0 He also leaves behind sisters Gayle A. Murphy and her husband Richard, of Sarasota, FL and Mary E. Robertson and her husband Daniel, of Haverhill; step-grandson Wiley Richard and step granddaughter Sky Thorne, along with several nieces and nephews. He is predeceased by his brother John E. Murphy.<\/p>\n
ARRANGEMENTS:\u00a0 Family and friends are invited to attend calling hours on Wednesday, November 1 from 4PM until 7PM at the Kevin B. Comeau Funeral Home, 486 Main Street, Haverhill. Funeral home chapel service Thursday, November 2 at 11AM.\u00a0 Burial is private.
