DiFloures, 92"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>Haverhill \u2013 Anthony J.\u00a0 &#8220;Tony&#8221; DiFloures, Sr., 92 of Haverhill, loving husband of 69 years to Jean (Arnold) DiFloures, passed away peacefully at his residence surrounded by his loving family after a courageous battle with cancer.<\/p>\n<p>Tony was born, raised and educated in Haverhill and attended St. James grammar school. He was one of nine children, the son of the late Louis and Julia (Kapella) DiFloures. \u00a0A Korean War Veteran, he proudly served in the Navy aboard the USS Chloris, enlisting in 1951 and was honorably discharged in 1954. Upon his discharge he returned home and was employed in the local shoe industry. Tony then went to work at the Western Electric, AT&amp;T, and retired from Lucent Technologies as a layout operator.\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0 Tony enjoyed vacations in Florida, trips to Salisbury Reservation, visiting relatives in Maine, camping and loved deep sea fishing. He was a talented carpenter and mechanic as many knew, Tony could fix anything\u2026a Mr. Fixit. He was lovingly known as Papa to not only his grandchildren but to many others throughout the years.<\/p>\n<p>Mr. DiFloures married the love of his life in 1955 and raised four loving children together. He was a devoted husband, father, grandfather and great grandfather. He leaves his beloved wife, Jean DiFloures of Haverhill, three loving daughters; Donna M. Luciano and her husband James, of Plaistow, Suzanne Murphy of Haverhill and Gina M. Ceder and her husband Greg of Haverhill and a son; Anthony J. DiFloures Jr. and his wife Lynnette of Haverhill, ten grandchildren; Jamie Uliano, Amanda Kelly, Paul Luciano, John Murphy, Colleen Guarnieri, Patrick Murphy, Kelsey Ceder, Emily Ceder, Jackson DiFloures and Ryan DiFloures, five great grandchildren; Nicholas Uliano, Lucas, Lydia, and Tyler Kelly and Carmen Luciano and several nieces and nephews. He was predeceased by his son in law John Murphy and his siblings, brother , Bedrnardo \u201cBen\u201d DiFloures, sisters; Nancy Rembis, Helen Tidd, Florence Fogel, Mary Amidio, Louisa Chabot, Josephine Matthews and Irene DiFloures.<\/p>\n<p>Memorial donations may be made in his name to St. James Church\/LMOHP (Liz Murphy Open Hand Pantry) 6 Cottage St. Haverhill, MA 01830.<\/p>\n<p>Family and friends are respectfully invited to calling hours for Mr. DiFloures on Wednesday, May 1, 2024 from 4:00 PM until 7:00 PM. A Funeral Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated on Thursday May 2 at 10:00 AM at St. James Church, Winter St. Haverhill. Burial will follow at St. Patrick\u2019s Cemetery, North Broadway Haverhill.
