Charles (\u201cChuck\u201d) Lacombe\u00a0of Haverhill,\u00a0died Friday, September 26th\u00a0at the age of 61 and just three weeks shy of his birthday. \u00a0Chuck was\u00a0born\u00a0the fifth of eight children,\u00a0into\u00a0a spirited tribe of a family.\u00a0Born to Beverly and Charlie Lacombe,\u00a0Chuck arrived\u00a0two months early\u00a0and\u00a0made an unforgettable entrance with a police escort speeding to the hospital. At just\u00a0over\u00a0three\u00a0pounds, family lore says he was small enough to fit in a shoebox\u2014one they kept warm\u00a0with their loving arms.<\/p>\n
Chuck arrived\u00a0into\u00a0a family still holding heartache from the loss of his eldest brother, Steven. His presence was a\u00a0balm\u00a0and a spark \u2014 quickly growing into a boy with a mischievous spirit and a sharp wit.\u00a0Loyalty defined Chuck as much as his pranks.\u00a0When his brothers walked the streets,\u00a0any\u00a0conflict would pause at the mention of his name\u2014because Chuck was a guardian at heart, fearless and steady.<\/p>\n
His life was a mosaic of\u00a0experiences, with days spent boating,\u00a0camping\u00a0and canoeing,\u00a0but also\u00a0sprinkled with\u00a0his\u00a0talents.\u00a0He helped his father build\u00a0a house\u00a0in\u00a0Harrison,\u00a0Maine with his own\u00a0skilled\u00a0hands.\u00a0The two\u00a0first-time\u00a0house builders produced\u00a0a gorgeous\u00a0gambrel\u00a0enjoyed by the family\u00a0as a vacation home for many years.\u00a0He\u00a0had a lifelong knack for rescuing dogs\u00a0in need, nurturing them toward safer futures.\u00a0He\u00a0frequently\u00a0saved\u00a0all sorts of critters in trouble, regardless of the\u00a0hour\u00a0of the day or night. \u00a0But\u00a0above all, Chuck\u2019s\u00a0deepest\u00a0pride and joy was his daughter, Lauren.\u00a0In every photo\u00a0of Chuck over the course of his\u00a0years, the widest smiles are those\u00a0he\u00a0shared\u00a0immediately\u00a0upon her arrival.\u00a0His happiness\u00a0was rooted\u00a0in her every accomplishment,\u00a0big and small,\u00a0as\u00a0proof of a\u00a0proud\u00a0and unwavering\u00a0love.\u00a0He was the first to\u00a0admit that\u00a0she was his best and brightest\u00a0success in this life.<\/p>\n
Chuck\u2019s story is\u00a0of a\u00a0heart that\u00a0beat\u00a0loudly, evenly\u2014and never without love. \u00a0He\u00a0leaves us now\u00a0with\u00a0sadness but\u00a0sustained by\u00a0many\u00a0good\u00a0memories.<\/p>\n
Chuck now joins his\u00a0loving\u00a0mother, Beverly\u00a0Lacombe\u00a0and his brother Steven in heaven. To mourn his passing, he\u00a0leaves behind his\u00a0daughter, Lauren Ward, his longtime companion and mother to his child, Tracy Ward,\u00a0his\u00a0father, Charles E. Lacombe,\u00a0his\u00a0sister, Kathryn Radford\u00a0and her husband Bruce,\u00a0his brother William Lacombe and his\u00a0partner, Joanne Downey, his sister,\u00a0Sharon Van Hecke and her husband,\u00a0Kevin, his sister,\u00a0Cheryl Angelo and her husband,\u00a0Paul Schulte, his brother,\u00a0Michael Lacombe and his wife, Krissy, his brother James Lacombe and his partner, Jody Deacon.\u00a0Chuck also leaves a wide number of\u00a0loving\u00a0nieces and\u00a0nephews\u00a0and extended family and friends.<\/p>\n
