Thurber, Jr., 66, husband of Lauralee A. (Johnson) Thurber, passed away on January 1, 2016 at the Oxford Nursing Home surrounded by his loving family.Born in Quincy, he was the son of the late Ronald A. and Barbara L. (Geddes) Thurber. He was a graduate of Abington High School, Class of 1967. He proudly served his country in the United States Army during the Vietnam War. Ronald was the recipient of two Bronze Stars. Upon his return from serving his country he was employed by the U.S. Postal Service for 32 years until his retirement in 2014.In addition to his wife, he is survived by his children, Ronald A. Thurber III of Brockton  Edward J. Thurber of East Bridgewater  Chris W. Thurber of Newton, NH and Brian A. Thurber of Haverhill  a brother, Richard A. Thurber and his wife Wendy of East Bridgewater  four grandchildren, Felicia, Brittany, Nadyiah and Lucy  his mother in law, Carol F. Costello of Hyannis  and friends Frank McKenney and Joanne Bouchard.Friends and family are respectfully invited to attend calling hours on Tuesday, January 5<sup>th<\/sup> from 4:00PM until 7:00PM at the Kevin B. Comeau Funeral Home, 486 Main Street, Haverhill. Burial will be private. Contributions may be made in his name to Veterans Northeast Outreach Center, 10 Reed Street, Haverhill, MA 01832.
