With his family, he traveled from Vietnam to Malaysia, surviving a long boat trip. From Malaysia he came to the United States in 1980, arriving in California, then Chicago, and settled in Louisiana where he attended Morgan City High School. Gus was employed in the shipping department at the warehouse of Chesterton\u2019s for 10 years. He loved his family and always wanted the best for them and for his many friends. He had a big heart and was outgoing with a great sense of humor. Gus loved traveling, especially to California and Universal Studios. He loved TV game shows and always dreamed of being a contestant on Let\u2019s Make a Deal and the Price is Right. Tran was a boxing fan, football and basketball. He will be missed by all who knew and loved him.In addition to his loving wife of 18 years, he is survived by his children, Kevin Tran and Karen Tran of Haverhill  five loving step brothers and four step sisters and several nieces and nephews.Family and friends are respectfully invited to attend calling hours on Tuesday, August 7 from 5:00PM until 9:00PM at the Kevin B. Comeau Funeral Home, 486 Main Street, Haverhill. Funeral services will begin on Wednesday morning from the funeral home at 9:00 AM with a Mass of Christian Burial to be celebrated at St. James Church, Winter Street, Haverhill at 10:00 AM.
