Haverhill \u2013 Robert E. Leppanen, Jr., 69, husband of the late Dyan Marie (Wall) Leppanen, passed away November 26, 2018 at High Pointe Hospice in Haverhill with his loving family by his side.Born in Lynn, he was the son of the late Robert E. Leppanen, Sr. and Phyllis E. (Reynolds) Leppanen. After graduating high school, he entered the United States Army and served his country in the Vietnam War from 1966 until 1970. Robert attended North Shore Community College and obtained his Master\u2019s Degree from Cambridge College. He was a Substance Abuse Counselor at the Veterans Association and was the Director of the Lynn Emergency Homeless Shelter for ten years. Robert loved all the New England sports teams, Celtics, Bruins, Red Sox and the New England Patriots. He was a founding member of the East Coast International Church in Lynn. Robert was known for his entrepreneurial spirit, he loved to travel on family vacations and spend time with his children and grandchildren. He will be missed by all who knew and loved him.Robert is survived by his children, Terry McCarthy of FL Tracy Leppanen of Nashua, NH Erin Spalding and her husband Jarrod of Haverhill Joseph Leppanen of Westerville, OH brothers, Larry Grant and his wife Kathy of Danvers Randy Grant of FL six grandchildren, Michael McCarthy and Bryanna Ianelli, Anya Levesque, Nicole McCarthy, Jada Spalding, Cordell Spalding, Reanna Spalding and Lincoln Spalding and one great grandchild, Anthony McCarthy.Family and friends are respectfully invited to attend a Memorial service for Robert on Saturday, December 8 at 2:00PM at the East Coast International Church, 62 Munroe Street, Lynn.
