Zachary Mica “Zac” Pierce, of Haverhill was born March 18, 1974 in Sacramento, California to Lisa Marie (Hutchings) and Arnold Fitzgerald Pierce.He grew up in Pensacola, Florida, Lexington, Kentucky, and Olney, Maryland. He was an athlete with a special interest in baseball. During his high school he played baseball and football and worked part time jobs at a drug store and then a movie theatre.After graduating from Sherwood High School, in 1992, he enlisted into the U.S. Navy. He proudly served his country for eight years as a signal detection operator. A Purple Heart recipient, he was wounded during the Iraq War.After being honorably discharged in 2000, he enrolled as an undergraduate student at the University of Massachusetts Boston. During these years he met and fell in love with his future wife, Nicole Blaquiere. Zac studied sociology and psychology, and graduated with a Bachelor of Arts degree in 2005. He married Nicole later that year on September 25th. He worked as a server and restaurant manager throughout his schooling, and then as a claims representative for the Social Security Administration. On February 16, 2011, Zac and Nicole welcomed their baby girl, Alison Bryn, to the world.Zac passed away on January 1, 2013 at the age of 38. He is survived by his beloved wife, Nicole, cherished daughter, Alison Bryn , his parents, a sister, Courtney Keeton, grandmother, Thelma Gatling, and many dear relatives and friends, all of whom will miss him dearly.Friends and family are respectfully invited to attend Zac’s memorial service on Sunday, January 27th at 1:30 PM in the Kevin B. Comeau Funeral Home, 486 main St. (Rte 125) Haverhill, MA 01830.
