Fremont, NH – Elaine F. (DeCoito) Mortell, 86, passed away July 2, 2017 at Colonial Poplin Nursing Home in Fremont, NH surrounded by her loving family.

Born in Peabody, she was the daughter of the late Amandio and Mary B. (Semis) DeCoito. Raised and educated in Haverhill, she was a graduate of Pentucket High School, Class of 1949. Elaine was employed for 15 years as a home health care aide and a property investor/landlord with a large heart toward helping others rather than making money. Elaine’s family was very important to her and she looked forward to spending time with her daughters, her grandchildren, her great grandchildren, and her many brothers and sisters. Sundays were spent at her mother’s house most of her life in the kitchen where her siblings and their children would gather. Family was everything to her.

 

She is survived by her daughters, Christine M. MacMillan of Haverhill; Brenda C. Mortell of Londonderry, NH; E. Leiza M. Peek and her husband David P. of Atkinson, NH; a sister, Eileen Angers of Sandown, NH; her brothers, Amandio DeCoito, Jr.; Daniel DeCoito; Francis DeCoito; Richard DeCoito; Joseph DeCoito; nine grandchildren, Jessica Davio, Shawna Tinker, Danielle Brady, George Taylor, Paul MacMillan, Jacob MacMillan, Amber-Rose McIntyre, William Chase, Preston Peek; 6 great grandchildren and many nieces and nephews. She was predeceased by her former husband James F. Mortell, her siblings, Thomas DeCoito, Robert DeCoito, William DeCoito and Isabel Mills.

 

Family and friends are respectfully invited to attend calling hours on Friday, July 7 from 4:00PM until 7:00PM at the Kevin B. Comeau Funeral Home, 486 Main Street, Haverhill. Funeral services will begin on Saturday morning at 9:00AM from the funeral home with a Mass of Christian Burial to be celebrated at St. Luke’s the Evangelist Church, 8 Atkinson Depot Road, Plaistow, NH.
