Haverhill – Jose Antonio Allende, 72, passed away December 18, 2020 at Holy Family Hospital in Methuen.
Jose was born in Puerto Rico, son of the late Fautino and Guillermina (Concepcion) Allende and came to the United States as a young man settling in Haverhill. He was employed as a leather cutter in the shoe industry in the Merrimack Valley. Jose loved watching Novella on the Spanish channel and listening to Spanish music. He enjoyed sitting on his porch with family and friends feeding the birds and he had a great sense of humor. His greatest joy was his family, especially his grandchildren. He will be missed by all who knew and loved him.
Jose is survived by his children, Gene B. Allende and his partner Kimberly Comeau of Haverhill; William Brightman of Salem, NH; Robert Brightman of Bradford; Emelyn Allende of Haverhill; Joseph Vachon III; his grandchildren, Isael Sanchez Jr., Kayla Robinson, Alaina Allende, Alexus King, Jara Brightman, Madison Brightman, Gene Allende, Jr., Billy Brightman, Debbie Brightman and Tyler L’Italien; sisters, Iris Allende and Socorro Allende, both of Haverhill, and a niece, Wanda Allende.
