Haverhill – Diana “Dee” Ocasio, 55, passed away at Portsmouth Regional Hospital April 27, 2019 with her loving family by her side.
Born in Bronx, NY, she was the daughter of Dora E. (Cruz) Ocasio of Bronx, NY and the late Teodoro “Herman” Ocasio. She was educated in the Haverhill School system as a young teen, moved back to New York where she was a graduate of James Monroe High School, Class of 1981. After graduation, she served in the United States Army, stationed in Hawaii where she worked on missiles and was honorably discharged. After serving her country, she moved to New York then eventually returned to Haverhill where she resided for the past 28 years. Diana was a telecommunications expert, working for companies as project manager, lead technician and telecommunications specialist. She had been the operations manager, where she also received her black belt, at Ocasio’s True Martial Arts in Haverhill from 1998-2007. She was a hands on team player and valued manager. Diana stood strong and fought a courageous battle throughout her illness with diabetes, never losing sight of her family and friends. She was an inspiration for everyone she came in contact with and will be forever loved. Known for her humorous nature, caring heart and love of gadgets, she was always quick to lend a hand to anyone in need and will be missed by all who knew and loved her.
In addition to her loving mother, Dora she is survived by her siblings, John Vincenty and his wife Daisy of Winter Park, FL; Linda Colón and her husband Luis of Bronx, NY; Herman Ocasio and his wife Kim of Haverhill, with whom she lived; Maritza Ocasio-Solis of Bronx, NY; her long-time friend, Melissa Mari and her children, Matthew and Joshua Ganais, all of Haverhill; brother-in-law Wilfredo Solis of Bronx, NY and sister-in-law Nora Vincenty of St Cloud, FL; and numerous nieces, nephews, cousins, aunts, uncles and friends. In addition to her father, she was predeceased by her brother Julio Vincenty of St. Cloud, FL.
