Albert J. Connor September 8, 1936 - June 9, 2019

Albert J. Connor, 82, passed away June 9, 2019 at Hannah Duston Healthcare in Haverhill with his loving family by his side.

He was the son of the late Melnott A. Connor Jr. and Corrine S. (Cote) Connor. Raised and educated in Haverhill, he was a graduate of Haverhill Trade School, Class of 1954. Al was employed in the dry cleaning industry and was employed at Imperial Cleaners as a Presser. He also worked at Care Cleaners in Chelmsford as Manager until his retirement. Al was an avid Boston sports fan, especially the Red Sox, Celtics and New England Patriots. He enjoyed playing cards, meeting once a month for a poker game with his brother in laws. In addition, he could be found playing cards all over Haverhill. Al was an antique car enthusiast, and loved red Pontiac convertibles. He had a quick, dry wit, a great sense of humor and was quite a character with his story telling. Known as one of a kind with a kind, gentle soul and selfless, kind heart he led his life by example for his family and friends. Al supported many charities, especially the veterans. He will be sorely missed by all who knew and loved him.

Al is survived by his daughters, Christine Connor – Slager and her husband Timothy of Franklin, NH; Karen Connor – Levesque of Haverhill; brother, John Connor and his wife Kathleen of Haverhill; sisters, Patricia Hebert of Kingston, NH; Jeanne Wilneff and her husband William of Bradford; Phyllis Twombly and her husband Paul of Haverhill; granddaughter Delia Slager; his former wife, Gail “Mickey” (Gleason) Connor of Haverhill; and several nieces and nephews.

Family and friends are respectfully invited to attend calling hours on Wednesday, June 12 from 4:00PM until 7:00PM at the Kevin B. Comeau Funeral Home, 486 Main Street, Haverhill.
