Pat Schena, 82, passed away tragically at his home on Friday, June 21, 2019.
Born in Haverhill, he was the son of the late Antonio and Louise (Roselli) Schena. He attended Haverhill public schools and was a graduate of Haverhill Trade School, Class of 1954. He was a member of the Army Reserves for 6 years. He was the proud owner of Pat Schena Quality Carpenter and Builder and constructed homes throughout Massachusetts for over 40 years. He also served as the Groveland Building Inspector and Zoning Enforcement Officer for 36 years. His hobby of antiques became his retirement business and you could find him on the field every Sunday at Todd Farm in Rowley . Always greeting people with his beautiful smile, he was known for mentoring many local builders and helping his community. As the matriarch of the family he was a loving and devoted father who taught his girls how to snowmobile, ski, skate, fish, clam dig, build treehouses and go-carts, throw a punch, a strong work ethic and how to be successful in life. As a grandfather he was the greatest from his attitude to his actions, he was the man. From birthdays to holidays he put the joy in them for his grandkids. He loved everyone and there were smiles all around when he was there with a good amount of Italian ”loud” talking while meals were enjoyed around the table. He was funny, he was tough and showed the kids many things as they grew up. Pat traveled with the love of his life, Jacqueline Hosty, to Italy for the trip of a lifetime. Pat would wish everyone health, wealth, happiness and time to enjoy it.
Pat is survived by his loving daughters, Michele A. Schena of Groveland and Brenda J. Schena of Amesbury; two beloved grandchildren, Addison Antonio Williams and Aaron Roselli Williams; his former wife and friend, Peggy L. (Waning) Schena of Merrimac; a brother, John Schena of Nashua, NH; sister in law, Rita Schena of Cupertino, CA; a nephew, Bruce Schena of Menlo Park, CA; and many extended family members. He was predeceased by his eldest daughter, Valerie A. Schena, a brother Michael Schena and sister in law Gertrude Schena.

June 25, 2019 at 9:57 pmDear Brenda and Michele,
Our hearts are broken and we mourn for your loss. I’ve known your Dad my entire life and he truly is the best of the best. Our family gatherings, parties, and weekend getaways are all fondly remembered and forever memorialized with your Dad’s passing. He is now in heaven with my Mom and Dad and many, many others. I have to believe he was welcomed with love and smiles and that one by one we will all be reunited again. Love and sympathy to you and your family. I will always be here for you.
