Gloria Montisanti, 94, entered her heavenly home on March 2, 2026, at Big Bend Hospice in Tallahassee, Florida. She was reunited with the love of her life, James Montisanti.
Born in Korea, Gloria met James while he was serving in the U.S. Army. Shortly after marrying, they settled in Haverhill, MA, where they raised three children. Gloria worked in Salem, NH, for Digital Equipment Corporation as an assembler—a role she was proud of and truly enjoyed. Gloria and James later relocated to West Palm Beach, FL, for retirement, though this was short‑lived. Soon, they started a new adventure as shop owners at the 45th Street Flea Market. Gloria’s entrepreneurial flair helped her build a small business selling luggage and women’s accessories.
Gloria was a devoted Christian, mother, grandmother, and great‑grandmother. She loved family gatherings, attending church, and spending countless hours tending to her garden and plants. Known for her warm spirit and kindness, she was a stranger to none and will be deeply missed. The family is comforted knowing that Gloria has released her earthly burdens and now rests in eternal peace, cradled in the quiet beauty of the celestial sky. May God’s solace and abiding peace hold her loved ones close as they honor an incredible life.
Gloria is survived by her son, Monty Rheem of FL; her daughter, Maria Groezinger of CA; and her daughter, Joanna Schmidtchen, and her husband, Jeffrey, of FL. Hulmonee (grandmother in Korean) will be lovingly remembered by her grandchildren—Susan, David, Hannah, Emma, Nicole, Dylan, and Rachel—and her great‑grandson, Leo. She was preceded in death by her husband in 2005.
Loved ones are invited to calling hours on Tuesday, March 10 from 4:00PM to 6:00PM. A chapel service will be held on Wednesday, March 11 at 11:00AM. Both will be held at Kevin B. Comeau Funeral Home, 486 Main Street in Haverhill. Burial ceremony immediately to follow at St. Patrick’s Cemetery, 395 N. Broadway in Haverhill. To honor Gloria’s love for her church, and the compassionate care she received during her final days, the family welcomes donations, in lieu of flowers, to either organization below.
