Haverhill – Mary E. (Tarr) Parker, 89, wife of the late Robert E. Parker, passed away November 7, 2019 at Lakeview House in Haverhill with her family by her side.
Born in Gloucester, she was the daughter of the late Osmond R. and Lois M. (Vance) Tarr. She was raised in Danvers and attended Danvers Schools. She was a familiar face for over 20 years at Building 19 in Haverhill, working as a retail sales clerk. She volunteered at the Haverhill Senior Center, Sacred Hearts Church and the former Hale Hospital for many years. Mary was also well known for playing “Mrs. Claus” in the Santa Parade every year. She volunteered with “Ozzie’s Kids”, an organization started by her late son, Ozzie Hardy. Mary enjoyed knitting, cooking and loved her trips to Maine and Foxwoods to play Bingo. Family was everything to Mary and she was a devoted mother, grandmother and great grandmother. She will be missed by all who knew and loved her.
Mary is survived by her children, Mary “Tildy” Flood and her husband Ray of Stratford, CT; Penny Bourque and her husband Tom of Marinette, WI; siblings, Richard Tarr and his wife Janet of FL; Marion Michaud, Lois Parker and Virginia Knowlton; grandchildren, Robert Hardy and his wife Nichole, Khristina Hardy, Thomas Hardy and his wife Kara, Robert Flood and his wife Becky, Robert Stockton, Scott Bourque, Aaron Bourque and his wife Abby; great grandchildren, Makayla, Sarah, Tyler, Robert Jr., Damian, Tommy Jr., Bella, Logan, Owen and Baby Boy Flood; sister in law, Pamela Tarr of Haverhill; and many nieces and nephews. In addition to her husband Robert, she was predeceased by her children, Osmond “Ozzie” Hardy and his late wife Gayle and Robert Parker, her siblings, Billy, Ozzie, and George Tarr, Marilyn Griffin, Alberta Lindsey and Jane Sullivan.
Family and friends are respectfully invited to attend calling hours on Monday, November 11 from 10:00AM until 11:30AM at the Kevin B. Comeau Funeral Home, 486 Main Street, Haverhill. Funeral services will follow in the funeral home at 11:30AM. Burial will be in Walnut Grove Cemetery, 30 Sylvan Street, Danvers. Contributions may be made in her memory to Ozzie’s Kids, c/o of N.E.
